CCG Methadone Maintenance Treatment
Our Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT) is not just the use of Methadone to replace drugs of addiction. It utilizes Methadone as one element in a comprehensive treatment program in which Methadone replaces opiate drugs, including heroin and oxycodone.
What distinguishes and increases the success of CCG’s MMT program is the provision of counseling, group treatment, and additional medical and psychosocial services.
Methadone
Methadone is a long-acting opioid agonist that is prescribed as a treatment for opioid dependence, as well as the management of chronic pain.
Methadone may be substituted for other opioids because tolerance to one opioid, such as methadone, also blocks the effects of other opioids. This phenomenon is known as cross-tolerance. Cross-tolerance develops between substances that act on the same parts of the brain. Methadone is taken orally and dispensed in liquid form that does not lend itself to injection, thereby not reinforcing the behavior associated with some opiates.
BUT. . . Methadone addresses only the physiological opioid dependence, not the accompanying issues.
CCG’s MMT Program
We address the whole person and the whole life. In CCG’s comprehensive MMT programs, our on-site counselors and behavioral health specialists work closely with physicians and nurses. This coordination and integration is critical to a patient’s success. Constant communication among all of the treatment team involved, and the patient, is essential to providing safe and sustained recovery from opiate addiction.
By offering an immersive treatment program and assistance with daily life routines that extend beyond narcotic or opioid sobriety, patients at CCG have the best opportunity for success in their total lives. We provide personal attention and care to initially end addiction and then to heal the whole person over time, giving them knowledge, support, and assistance to lead a healthy and full life.
